Born and raised on the
northwest side of Chicago, the “Windy City”, Jennifer Ocampo is a
Latin-flavored singer/songwriter with Mexican roots, who is ready to mark
her spot in the music industry and become the next fresh music phenomenon.
Living through tough times, drastic personal changes and growing up in a
humble, Latin family has always installed more desire and bigger dreams in
her life rather than falling back in despair. This native “Chicagoan”,
raised by proud Mexican parents possesses a humble, compassionate yet strong
and solid spirit. Singing to top radio hits and favorite movie soundtracks
to friends and family and enjoying music from as far back as the 50’s to
today is one of Jennifer’s brightest moments. “I’m a city girl with a heart
and soul full of aspiring dreams who has always held a secret passion for
music. Music has always been a form of revival for me to massage the soul
and bring new light to its windows”.
Jennifer has the capacity to
deliver passionate silky smooth vocals to a ballad, vibrant, intense energy
to a Latin groove, and breathy sensuality to rhythm and blues. Her musical
influences include the power of Mariah Carey and Christina Aguilera, the
soulfulness of Gladys Knight and Deborah Cox and the Latin flavor of Gloria
Estefan and Selena. She also loves the sounds of Angie Stone, The
Temptations, Erykah Badu, Luther Vandross, Gerald Levert, R. Kelly, Olga
Tañon, Jennifer Peña, A.B. Quintanilla y los Kumbia Kings, and many more.
Jennifer has set off to
prepare herself to break the barrier and open more doors for Latin men and
women in the heart of the English music industry. “I want to prove to Latin
music lovers that expanding your musical horizons to R&B melodic, soulful
grooves and giving a twist of rich Latin flavor can take music lovers to new
musical thrills. I want people to undergo being sexy, sensual, uplifted,
proud and caught up in the depth of emotion with my words”. Embracing her
vision, and touching the many aspects of the soul to become an inspiration
to others is one of her many goals from which she is determined to obtain in
becoming the next Latin-American singing sensation of this new millennium!
